About the Marketplace

Created out of the need to combat food deserts, the J. Alice Mobile Marketplace seeks to bring fresh produce to underserved communities. Food deserts commonly exist in low-income neighborhoods, we believe by operating mobile grocery stores in those communities the disparity in fresh, healthy foods can be reduced. Providing healthy food in low-income neighborhoods can also be correlated with lower spending on health related expenses.
